Ladybug

Meet Ladybug!

This sweet young girl is a lover! She’s excited about life and will quickly become the apple of your eye.

Ladybug weighs about 10# and we suspect she has some terrier and chihuahua in her blood. She’s fully vetted and spayed.

Ladybug loves stuffed toys and treats. She craves attention and positive feedback. She’s what we call a Velcro dog (some might even say needy). She wants to be with her people all the time, so she needs someone who will be home a lot. She’s not destructive when left alone, just really sad. Ladybug loves car rides, walks well on a leash (she needs a harness due to her small head - she also likes to be carried), and is crate- and house-trained (nearly perfect). She can get excited around new dogs, so be sure to hold her leash tight. She has quite a prey drive; chipmunks and squirrels should look out when she’s on patrol. She has played nicely with the other dogs in her foster home from 10-20#. She has a tendency to view cats as prey, so we don’t recommend her for a home with cats.

She’s happy to help you read or watch your favorite shows on tv – just make sure to leave a hand free for belly rubs and head pets. She will make herself at home in your lap. If you happen to get distracted, she’s happy to remind you that petting her is a priority! Working from home can be somewhat of a challenge as she prefers you use both hands to pet her rather than typing. She sometimes needs a few minutes to warm up to strangers, but once she’s familiar she loves almost everyone.

Ladybug enjoys sleeping in her crate and she’s also happy to nap on the couch or in bed with you. She’s quite a snuggler and often leaps into her foster mom's lap. She knows her name and comes when called. She enjoys a fenced yard, but it isn’t a requirement. She would likely enjoy being an only dog. She is a real sweetheart and wants to have your attention! She’s very submissive and raised voices hurt her feelings. She’s even been known to suck on her back paw at bedtime or if she’s upset.

No small kids please.
